John S. Macdonald, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer, Aptium Oncology
Dr. Macdonald is a graduate of Harvard Medical School and trained in medical oncology at the National Cancer Institute. He is board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology and serves on the Oncology Subspecialty Committee of the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Macdonald, an internationally recognized oncologist with an interest in gastrointestinal cancers, has authored over 100 articles, book chapters and abstracts. He serves as the Chairman of the Gastrointestinal Committee of the Southwest Oncology Group. Dr. Macdonald also served as Medical Director to the St. Vincent's Comprehensive Cancer Center in Manhattan, and acting Medical Director at Trinitas Comprehensive Cancer Center in Elizabeth, NJ. Dr. Macdonald serves as an expert advisor to the consortium.

Lawrence P. Leichman, M.D., F.A.C.P.
National Program Director, Gastrointestinal Malignancies, Aptium Oncology
Dr. Leichman is a medical oncologist at the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California. He has more than 20 years of clinical, teaching and research experience at highly renowned medical centers including the University of Southern California-Kenneth J. Norris Jr. Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Roswell Park Cancer Center, Buffalo, New York. He specializes in the management of a wide spectrum of solid tumors, with emphasis in gastrointestinal malignancies, sarcoma, melanoma, breast cancer and cancer of unknown primaries. He leads the consortium in the development and implementation of translational clinical trials in GI cancers. Dr. Leichman is nationally recognized in "America's Top Doctors" and "Best Doctors" and is a consultant for the National Cancer Institute, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He is board certified in medical oncology and internal medicine. He earned his medical degree and served his residency and fellowship at Wayne State University School of Medicine.

Cynthia Gail Leichman, M.D.
Research Director, Comprehensive Cancer Center at Desert Regional Medical Center
Nationally recognized in "America's Top Doctors" and "Best Doctors," Dr. Leichman is a specialist in cancer of the breast, colon and lung. She is listed in Good Housekeeping magazine's "Top 318 Cancer Specialists for Women for Breast, Lung and Colon Cancer." She has more than 20 years of clinical, teaching and research experience at highly renowned medical centers including the University of Southern California - Kenneth J. Norris Jr. Comprehensive Cancer Center and Roswell Park Cancer Center, Buffalo, New York. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Leichman is the Research Director at the Desert Regional Comprehensive Cancer Center. Her medical degree, residency and fellowship were at Wayne State University School of Medicine. She is board certified in medical oncology and internal medicine.

Dr. Leichman serves as an expert advisor to the consortium.

Marti McKinley, BSN, MBA
Vice President of Clinical Research Programs, Aptium Oncology
Marti McKinley has more than 30 years of experience in education and clinical research. She has research experience in Phases I - IV of compound development in a number of therapeutic areas including oncology, cardiovascular, metabolic, analgesic, urologic, and CNS/anesthesia. Her management experience is includes leading cross-functional, global programs and development teams.

Marti's responsibilities include the development and implementation of strategic plans for the growth of consortia activities. She leads a team of experts in the areas of research, finance, contracts, administrations and information technology. Marti has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Alfred University and completed graduate level courses in education at Cleveland State University. She is a graduate of the Executive MBA program at the University of Delaware.
